Yoyogi Park/Uehara

Yoyogi Park/Uehara

This is a high-class residential area in, and to the west of, Yoyogi. Starting from Yoyogikoen Park, the area prohibits high-rise buildings and has always attracted high-income bracket residents by its characteristically classy atmosphere.

The transportation to other areas in Tokyo is very convenient because several highways pass through and by the area. You can also use buses, subways, JR lines and other trains to get not only to Shibuya and Shinjuku, but also to business districts such as Aoyama, Akasaka and Hibiya.

Yoyogikoen was used as the athletes village for the 1964 summer Olympics in Tokyo. The gymnasium and other facilities that were built in that period are still kept in good condition. Now the park serves as a recreation space for everyone. The swimming pool, tennis courts, ice skate rink, etc. are available at reasonable fees. Various kinds of events take place in the park, such as street performances and flea markets, and the program varies from week to week.
