Shoto, Aobadai and Daikanyama are quiet, high-class residential areas located around Shibuya, an area full of large department stores, shops, restaurants and every kind of entertainment.
Shoto is close to the Tokyu Department Store, one of the biggest in Japan, and a 10-minute walk to Shibuya Station. Although being so close to the downtown district, the residential area is quiet. The residences and land are rather large compared to other areas, and the apartment buildings are not towering like the ones constructed these days. There are also various cultural facilities nearby, such as Kanze-Nogakudo (Noh theater), Shoto Art Museum, Orchard Hall Theater and Theater Cocoon.

There is always something new in the Daikanyama area: boutiques and café, etc. The west side of Daikanyama Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line was recently re-developed and the new area is named Daikanyama Address.
