Interestingly, the Meguro station is actually located at the edge of the Meguro ward. The area east from Meguro station along Yamanote line is called Jounan Gozan, that means 5 hills of southern castle (Gotenyama, Hanabusayama, Ikedayama, Shimazuyama, and Yatsuyama) and they are all famous and quiet residential zone. Because the origin of Tokyu Corporation is Shibuya, the Tokyu lines are mostly connected to Shibuya. Tokyu Corporation developed wealthy’s residential towns along the lines. For examples, Denen-chofu and Jiyugaoka of Toyoko-Line, preferred by German speaking residents because of school bus route, are counted as the most famous town in Japan.
Setagaya is the 2nd largest and the most populated within Tokyo 23 wards, and is commuter town for businessperson who works in central Tokyo. With tremendous Komazawa Olympic Park and three international schools (Seisen International, St.Mary’s, and British School Tokyo Showa Campus), this area is popular for expats family who love to live by settled residential area.

Chosen as the most desired lines to live by as private railways, neighborhood along Toyoko line is very fine area with many parks, fashionable but useful shops, and low-rise house zoning. Jiyugaoka and Denen-chofu are most desired by local Japanese with such feature.
Based on the rural town designs of a British urban planner, Denen-chofu offers top-class residences that are larger than the norm found elsewhere in the capital city and a town feel preserved by the area’s own zoning laws.
This area is preferred by German families because DSTY school bus runs around here, and the owners of prestigious houses love them because German people cares house beautifully.
British School Tokyo Showa Campus is located at the center of triangle of three station, Shibuya, Jiyugaoka, and Sangenjaya, so this area can be a choice for British family as well. Sangenjaya of the Denen-toshi line, also operated by Tokyu Corporation, is another popular place but for much younger generation.

Located at southwest and center in Setagaya ward, expats families who prefer easy access to school tend to choose this area, because St.Mary's and Seisen International School are here. Terrains of this are mostly flat, with some hills with prestigious residential zone. Large parks and the Tamagawa River preserve the quiet comfort of a former natural setting. It had been traditionally low-rise residential zone; however, recent development around Futako-tamagawa station provided high-rise apartments with beautiful landscapes. Tamagawa River at south is boundary of Tokyo and Kanagawa. Cherry trees are planted along the banks, and there is a fireworks festival in autumn as well. At center of this ward, there is Komazawa Olympic Park. This huge park gathers people who love sports in weekend. It is a bit far from stations, yet people who values environment choose this area.
